Leadership

Chirag Shah

Founder

Chirag Shah is a founding partner of Nucleus Commercial Finance. Prior to establishing Nucleus, Chirag was Portfolio Manager at Acheron Capital Ltd, a London-based asset manager focusing on acquisitions in the life insurance space. He was responsible for sourcing, due diligence, monitoring and liquidation of distressed investments in ABL deals, ABL hedge funds and life settlements.

Gordon Titley

Non-Exec Director

Gordon has over 25 years’ experience in the invoice finance, asset based lending and restructuring industry.

Mark Goldman

Director

Mark Goldman is the Managing Director of Nucleus. Before joining the fintech lender, Mark enjoyed a career spanning over 30 years in global fixed income markets, where he proved to be instrumental in raising capital and spearheading the restructuring of various businesses.

Simon Willmett

Finance Director

Simon joined Nucleus in June 2015 as the Company’s Finance Director. Prior to joining Nucleus Simon worked in corporate restructuring for 13 years, ten of which were spent at Deloitte in London.

Deborah Hardy

Non-Exec Board Member

Deborah joined Nucleus as a Director in 2022. She brings over 30 years’ experience in of operational experience delivering a wide range of both client and supplier focused solutions. Having worked on both the buy and sell side she brings a depth of understanding and relationship driven skills. She has previously worked in a variety of Industries including general and commercial insurance, financial services and marine science services. Deborah is an approved individual in the UK by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to perform a Senior Management Function.

Investors

Nucleus Commercial Finance is not currently accepting any new investment.

At Nucleus, we don’t ‘auction and loan’. Reliability and trust are our watchwords: our guaranteed long-term credit and bank lines give investors and clients alike the confidence to work with us on an ongoing basis. Our management team has a wealth of experience, has been drawn from giants such as Merrill Lynch, Wells Fargo, Nomura, Mitsubishi and Deutsche Bank.

Having our own capital reserves give us an unusual degree of discretionary power. Investors know if we don’t partner with the right businesses then we’ll be the first to feel the effects. We excel in providing finance to good businesses rejected by banks – but are highly discerning about who we will lend to.

Our financial expertise makes us such a good partner for institutional investors active in the alternative business lending space, that we no longer accept external investment for our products. Our reputation for lending, managing, and recovering capital precedes us, and we can afford to be selective – a privilege we exercise.
