Our Culture:

We take our role as a business operating within the finance sector seriously and fully understand our duty to act in a socially, morally, and ethically responsible way. We adhere to the leading practices set out to combat the ongoing issue of slavery and human trafficking. As a business, there are certain values we abide by, such as:

  • Encourage transparency: acting honestly both internally and externally is of the utmost importance in our business culture.
  • Treat everyone with fairness: employees are treated exactly the same, regardless of any hierarchal structure as we believe in being fair and impartial at all times.
  • Speak up whenever necessary: our employees are encouraged to ask any relevant questions and know they are welcome to challenge decisions should they have any concerns.

Important Policies:

  • Health and Safety: our health and safety policy demonstrates precisely how we intend to provide a healthy – and most importantly, a safe working environment for all employees and visitors that visit our business premises.
  • Whistleblowing: our whistleblowing policy reiterates to all employees at Nucleus that they are encouraged to raise concerns about important issues, including business practices, supply chain processes and the treatment of colleagues.
  • Recruitment: our HR department takes all the required steps during any recruitment process to ensure that all Nucleus employees are safeguarded against human trafficking and slavery. Important checks are conducted to ascertain that all employees are eligible to work in the UK and that they are in no way being forced to work against their will.
  • Anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing:
  • Anti-bribery and corruption:
  • The protection of data and data confidentiality, as per GDPR:
  • Procurement:
  • Conflicts of interest:

Important Steps We Undertake:

  • We always carry out due diligence to assess the risk of new suppliers and ask them to confirm that they have taken the required steps to eliminate the threat of modern slavery and human trafficking within their own organisations and supply chain.
  • We carry out ongoing risk assessments on any existing service providers we work with.
  • We continually monitor and assess all internal policies, including how adequate each policy is and whether it is successfully implemented within our organisation.
  • We communicate with our employees to ensure we are effectively providing a safe, inclusive and acceptable working environment.

We do not tolerate slavery and/or human trafficking in any way shape or form within our supply chains and would seek to terminate any relationship with a supplier where evidence of the same occurred.

Given the nature of our business, we do not consider that we operate in a sector where modern slavery and human trafficking are particularly prevalent or of high risk. In 2020 we strengthened our supplier assurance programmes to ensure that our supply chain services partners comply with, and are aligned to, our values and  our commitment to ensure that there is no slavery or human trafficking arising in our supply chains or in any part of our business.

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and outlines our Group’s slavery and human trafficking statement for the current financial year.  The statement has been approved by our CEO Chirag Shah.
