In 2016, following a management buyout the new management team running Cafe Pacifico – a Mexican restaurant and Covent Garden institution which has been going for 35 years – wanted additional funds to breathe new life into the business by investing in property upgrades and marketing.

In order to achieve this the business needed a cash injection and worked with Nucleus Commercial Finance to secure £25,000 via a Business Cash Advance – a flexible loan which leverages the cash takings of the business. The finance help to refresh the whole business. It enabled Cafe Pacifico to undertake a re-brand, work with a PR agency and undertake improvements to the building including full redecoration (whilst maintaining the important character of the restaurant). Whilst also upgrading the amenities, bar and lighting. As a result customer reviews have improved, new customer numbers are growing and repeat diners keep coming back to the new and improved restaurant.

Following the success of the first injection of finance, Cafe Pacifico returned to Nucleus Commercial Finance when they wanted to realise their dream to take the Cafe Pacifico concept out to potential customers, through attending events and festivals. In 2018, they secured a new £60,000 cash advance facility which ensured their presence as key festivals such as Taste of London and a further festivals during the summer.

The culmination of the two stages of finance have help the Cafe Pacifico team to reach new audiences (including a younger customer base), drive up bookings and provide a high level of experience to those visiting the restaurant. The business is going from strength to strength and is looking at international expansion of their concept – something unthinkable three years ago.
